What a Load of BS
Have you been reading about the London/UK riots? Or rather acts of cowardly, narcissistic thuggery by bullies who really just need a hug from their mummys. Rising up against the police, the 'man'? Wanting respect? What utter bull shit.
Oh, we don't get respected. Oh, we get badly treated by the cops. Oh, they treat us like we're nothing.
Grow a pair.
The world is a crap place. You are going to be judged based on your colour, your accent, your hair, your clothes. You are either going to get it right to the face or as a stab in the back. No one can ever control how another person chooses to think or be. The one and only thing any of us has any semblance of control, of autonomy are our own thoughts, our own actions. To have dignity. To be responsible for our families and communities. To respect ourselves as we would like to be respected. To treat others the way we would want to be treated. It may take months, years or decades to change how a group perceives or judges another. Tsunamis cause swift, momentary and destructive changes, but slower moving rivers form magnificent, lasting canyons. If they think they are going to be treated better by the authorities after rampaging and destroying homes and livelihoods of ordinary people, they must be seriously deluded or just plain stupid.
It's disgusting how they have used the death of a young man as a call for violence. How they cloak the looting, wanton destruction and burning with the veneer of 'a greater cause'. Perhaps these young people should be sent to live in areas of abject poverty or in countries with true horrors - that might put their little lives into perspective instead of running around in their Nikes or Adidas with their expensive smart-phones and Twittering their next trash-and-grab. Yeah, those are some real revolutionaries right there.

A thought provoking article. Easy to see you're writing about what you really feel - simple, honest thoughts. I loved the analogy about the rivers and the magnificent canyons. (Storing that away for future use) :)
Hello! Yeah, blurted it all out immediately after reading about the riots. Thanks for reading and commenting! Doesn't happen alot :)
